Two new malware families have been identified for Android devices. These malware, which are also seen in some apps in the Google Play Store, can steal personal and financial account information. It was reportedly seen in popular categories such as e-commerce and monetization apps.

Two new malware threats for Android

A new report by cybersecurity researchers has revealed malware called CherryBlos and FakeTrade. Targeting Android devices, these malware, once installed, allow hackers to access passwords and personal sensitive data.

In total, 32 apps were found to contain CherryBlos and FakeTrade. The researchers said they notified Google and the apps were removed from the Play Store. However, the apps were downloaded by millions of innocent users before they were removed.
